2018 Creative Arts Emmy Winners: ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘Gianni Versace,’ ‘Maisel,’ ‘Atlanta’ Among Most Honored Series for Night 1

The first night of the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards has ended. The Creative Arts Emmys, which take place over two nights, hand out awards for the various technical achievements in television such as production design, editing, costumes and sound, in addition to guest acting categories and various documentary, reality and variety series. Night one was all about comedies, dramas, limited series and TV movies, and there was a wide plethora of series honored.

The guest acting winners included Katt Williams for Atlanta, Tiffany Haddish for Saturday Night Live, Ron Cephas Jones for This Is Us and Samira Wiley for The Handmaid’s Tale.

The top winner for the night was Game of Thrones with seven, with The Assassination of Gianni Versace followed behind at four. This no doubt foretells a potentially great windfall at next week’s Emmy telecast, though it must be noted that it does not always translate. After all, Stranger Things and Westworld were among the top winners at the Creative Arts Emmys last year and neither show went on to win a single Emmy at the following week’s main ceremony.

Here’s the full list of Emmy winners from night one of the 2018 Creative Arts Emmys:
