Producers Guild of America Awards 2018: ‘Green Book’ Wins Top Prize

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) Awards took place Saturday night, marking the industry’s first stamp of approval of the year following weeks of critics prizes. Green Book won Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures, cementing it as a frontrunner to potentially win Best Picture at the Oscars. Of course, anything can happen as we still saw the correlation not track between PGA and Oscar in 2015 and 2016.

As expected, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Won’t You Be My Neighbor? won the Animated and Documentary prizes, respectively, cementing their status as frontrunners heading into the Oscars. On the TV side, The Americans, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story won their genre categories, following victories at the Critics’ Choice Awards.
