ACE Eddie Awards 2017 Nominations: ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ ‘Molly’s Game’ & More

The ACE Eddie Awards, which reward the best in film and TV editing as voted on by the American Cinema Editors guild, revealed their nominations for 2017 on Wednesday. The group splits their film categories into drama and comedy so there are 10 nominees in all, including Baby Driver, Blade Runner 2049, Dunkirk, Get Out, I, Tonya, Lady Bird, Molly’s Game, The Post, The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Last year, four of the five ACE Eddie (Drama) nominees were also nominated at the Oscars, in addition to one from the comedy category. They are considered the no. 1 precursor for the Film Editing category at the Oscars, considering they are voted on by industry professionals that often overlap with Academy voters.

TV nominations include double nominations for shows like Better Call Saul, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Fargo, with support for new series like Big Little Lies, GLOW and The Handmaid’s Tale.

The ACE Eddie Awards will take place Friday, Jan. 26.
